Hard Rock Hotel, Palm Springs
Inspired by Palm Springs style and the city's relationship with the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, the Hard Rock Hotel experience dovetails these two dynamics into one experience. Memorabilia from emerging artists as well as unusual items from more established acts are featured in the project, such as the “FUN” sign from the band “Fun.”, an oversized lamp of questionable taste from Elvis Presley, a taxidermy lamb from “No Doubt.”. A double-height gallery features festival imagery with photography by Paige Parsons, a well-known indie festival photographer. Benoit Maubrey was brought in from Germany to create one of his interactive sound speaker sculptures. Artists Mr. Brainwash, Jona Cerwinske, and Timorous Beasties all contributed work seen throughout the property.
The hotel has 163 rooms and suites, a restaurant, “Rock Shop," "Rock Spa," and a buzzing lobby bar scene with DJs playing every weekend to a great looking crowd that swarms the sunken “living room” lounge area. Nightclub coming 2015.
